My first multi color copper plate print. The project was to use 2 colors to come up with a final print that did not use the white of the paper. This was my solution. The image was my teachers idea after seeing several of my robot drawings (including this one) I was working on. He suggested the back ground be one of thos plastic model kits with parts of the robot. It was a fun project and I enjoyed coming up with the colors.
The final gave everyone a feel of an old comic book since the colors didn't line up exactly. An error in printing caused that, more like a lack of experience. I printed one color after another without letting the paper dry. Later I found out that this wasn't a practical way of doing it. The results are fair, and since my teacher is fond of older comics from the 50's, the errors were accepted.
I still have to finish the edition runs on them. I guess that is one of the things that I will be doing over the spring break while I am working in the print lab.
