Full Title : "Pretty Bunnies, oh wait, He ate them all" 10*12 inches
THis is the largest print I have done so far, and it was the most fun. I finished this one for our final critique in print class. It took roughly 15 hours to finish. Not to long.
This rabbit, is another conversation between my print teacher and I. More accurately, it is a continuation of the conversation we were having with "Against My Desire" [link] . What is fine art, and what isn't, what's good and bad. The way I treat the subject in this print is very different than the rabbit in "against My Desire", I have given into the illustrative (cartoony) style that dominate most of my sketch books. This is my style, I enjoy it, and I can not change that. This was a way to push that style far enough that my teacher was pleased with it. I do not see this victory as an end to the conversation though. I will probable continue to grow and discover new ways to create my style.
I was also pleased that the teacher, to his own shock, was able to determine what was going on in the image. I am not sure with the size being so small on the screen that you can. The idea evolved from a weird stuffed animal I was drawing in poetry class. I continued to develop that and it turned into a rabbit. From there the illustration manifested into this scary looking rabbit suit idea. Contained inside is a robot devouring little cute bunnies. I added the zipper line and zipper pull just behind his left ear to hopefully make this more clear. I touched it off with making his eyes look more machine with fine line work.
I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I have so far. If interested I have set the edition run to 30, although I only have 5 printed at this time for a grade, I am going to be printing the rest of the run during the summer. If you are interested let me know. I am setting the price for each print to 25 dollars +shipping. They will be signed, and edition'd.
