Rivet Ring

Before casting my rings, I smithed and forged them out of sheet and wire. This is a good example of one of the rings I produced. The ring is made from alternating brass and copper scrap sheet I had laying around, riveting and then soildered together in a stair step band. At one end of the band, the sheets taper almost to a point. The band was formed around a steel bar to the right size, and soildered. The edges of the ring where then filed and snaded down smooth, and finish sanding was done to the over all surface. I finished with a good polishing on a wheel. Although this is a fair image of the ring, it does not show the taper that folds over the top of the ring.
